Yes, according to what you described below, when you have your 801st (I assume 81 was a typo?), one thread will be moved to your archive. Which thread is moved depends on the expiration option, oldest or earliest. Oldest (activity date) is the thread that has not been active for the longest time in comparison to the others within that index. Earliest is the thread that is located as the very first thread, or last thread in an index, depending on if reverse theading is on or off.

Oldest is the default setting, so unless you have changed that, the thread that hasn't gotten any action in the longest amount of time is moved out.

I hope this clears up the questions you had. The FAQ will soon fully explain archiving in detail.
