... functions are now unlocked but I lost all my 3 archive pages - ie they were not retrieved and also lost my 4th main page which was lost when Voy Forums had the bug a few days ago. I guess you're gonna say they're casualties of "war".

When I click now on the back up and attempt forum rebuild, I get nothing - ie it just hangs there with the same message ie saying that it will take a minute or two to work and half an hour later it says the same thing and the same goes for On failure of the above, restore from backup -->

I know you guys tried something yesterday as some random old messages from 5 months ago came onto my current main page - maybe about a dozen or so. I guess that was the database's version of archive retrieval!

I don't know if anyone else has used the system and it works for them? Do you know whether it works? Has it been tested? Will whatever happened a few weeks ago happen again? Should we save our archives from now on to our hard drives etc so that it will never get 'lost' again by a corrupt database etc etc? I guess to be safe we should.

Well as said in a previous post, I was sensible enough to save 3 of my page's archives though had lost the main page ie when Voy Forums went down a few weeks ago - so I've lost about a month's work. As you said "casualty of war"!
