Yes, they're determined to make less dismounts and more park and loops because the are more efficient. And some of those loops will no doubt combined to make them longer - the rationalle (justification) is carriers are required to carry up to 35 pounds. No real debate there. That IS a requirement that you're able to do that. But physiologically speaking, that does not mean you'll be as efficient as with less weight. a grocery clerk will scan a can of peas, but if done enough even that will take its toll- and likely quicker if the can is a larger size. Bodies age- I can attest to that. Like it or not, we break down. And though for the postal service as with most businesses, time is money, there needs to be consideration for the human element and the effect of excessive demands over the longevity of a career. When I was a rookie, I'd carry the old Bee's ( the killer Bee's) stacked too high on my arm and an overflowing bundle in the satchel. That was stupid then (I think I voted democratic too). But I'm likely not capable of doing that now. An old guy won't be very efficient at all. Now a guy 6'2 and 200 lbs could probably be more so. And a young woman with soft hair, beautiful eyes.........I gotta go now!#@
