Tobias didn't move away after Ice had settled back down, as perhaps most of the others would have assumed he would. During his trek into the pack to the stream, Tobias had thought hard on these circumstance. The idea had niggled his brain from the moment Ice had collapsed as his paws, bloody and torn. Her losing the baby's was his fault. If he had done his duty, and stayed by her side at all times, he would have been the one to fight Ivory, and Ice would not have gone into early labor. She would still be pregnant with the pups she loved. It was this knowledge that stayed his place at her side. he had failed her, now he had to do all in his power to make it up to her. He only feared it wouldn't be enough.

Settling his head on his wet paws, Tobias scanned the occupants of the den, gaze carefully blank, incase any of them should peer to closely at him, and discover his guilt.
