IMO Mick Taylor is past his prime. His last studio album (A Stones Throw) came out ages ago & he's done nothing of any real quality since (not discounting the fact that it was a good album). He now has a reputation for being unreliable, drinking too much, missing shows etc. He has taken his place in history as a valuable and great guitar player (largely through his work with the STones), but I think he's now pissing it up the wall. I think his solo on Todd's album is good, but it's about more than just good solos. Taylor should pull his socks up and put out a great album of his own and be prepared to tour it properly. I've heard the bootleg files on Todd's site and frankly think that Todd shows him up alot of the time. Mick is capable of playing much better than that, but I think he's his own worst enemy. The last time I saw Mick gig with his own band he looked like he didn't even want to be there, turning his back on the audience & saying very little to the crowd. His guitar was largely out of tune & way too loud (his rhythm playing drowned out every Max Middleton piano solo!). I can only hope that he's acting differently on the gigs he's now doing with Todd.
