Subject: Birthday in a Box

Trying this again....I made this box for a friend's birthday. She lives several hundred miles from me and I wanted to do something special for her this year. I came up with a surprise party in a box idea. In a decorated priorty box I put matching plates, cups, napkins, silly string, party horns,a cool birthday card and a wrapped gift...oh and her favorite chips (wise 24 pack)..My daughter decorated the box. I think I really surprised her this time..I never mentioned her birthday was coming up, and it was hard because I was so excited about her gift...it really is better to give than recieve...

I did something similar to this for a lady in a nursing home that I write to. I sent her a "Tea Party" in a box last summer...Sent her matching paper plates, napkins and cups along with a plastic pitcher from the Dollar Tree filled with flavored ice tea mixes and some packages of cookies...Also included a package of invitations so she could invite some of the ladies in the nursing home to join her for a tea party.

Got a letter back from her daughter saying that it was one of the best gifts she had ever received and that her and the other ladies all enjoyed an sunny afternoon party.
