Subject: OT--Asking for Prayers for DD
Ladies...I try not to burden those of you on the board with asking for prayers for my family but this time we need a bunch of prayers. Our DD, Autumn, has been suffering with a headache since Monday and can not seem to find anything that will cut it. Since she is 8 months pregnant with Allison Rose, she can't take a lot of medicine. Besides the headache, she is also having problems with her BP. Her OB/GYN thinks that if they can get the headache to go away then the BP will come down. According to the nurse, Autumn is border line right now of being put on total bed rest until Allison is born or the BP comes down. It isn't unusual in the last 3 months that a pregnant woman gets high BP and I've told Autumn this.
OB/GYN has also ordered a 24 hour urine test. I'm not sure what he is checking for but she starts it Sunday and takes it in to his office on Monday. Any of you nurses out there....can you tell me what he might be checking for? The only thing that I can think of is Toxemia but am not a medical person.
Please put Autumn and Allison in your thoughts and prayers while we go through this. For the next 3 days I am going to sit on her if I have to so that she will stay in bed and keep her feet up. Figured it would be a good time for her and Mom to play some card games, lol.

Karen you make sure that she gets her rest and yes even if you have to sit on her. Prayers are being said for you and your DD. Keep us updated and try to get some rest yourself. Hugs , Nancy in Mo.

(((Hugs))) Karen I am keeping Autumn and Allison Rose as well as you in my thoughts and prayers.
Make sure Aurumn is comfortable and relaxed (so hmm sitting on her would not quite work here LOL!).
Especially no stress at this time and I am sure you know her diet should be low sodium and more fruit and veggies.
If she is concerned about anything contact with her OB/GYN is important.

Karen, saying prayers for your DD and all of you. Sounds like she has pre-eclampsia. Keep her quiet and as stress free as you can. Definitely low salt, no added salt to her diet. No soda or anything with caffiene. This should help her feel better. Any problems at all, even it its 'I'm ok but...' call the doctor. We want the best for your DD and our cyber goddaughter. love to all of you

Karen, Will be senting praying up for all of you. I can feel for Autumn and the headache. Just try to keep it quite, dark and cool for her. And the bp comes with headache and baby. Take care and keep us posted.

Lifting you DD and DGD up in prayer. I'm not a nurse, but I think they are checking for toxemia. I had that when I was pregnant with my son. Please keep us updated. I'll keep you all in prayer....

When I was pregnant with both DD's they did the 24 hr urine test to check for protien in my urine. How gross it was to think that my pee was sitting next to the food in the fridge....YUCK!!! But I had to do it.
Hope the headache goes away soon. I will keep her in my prayers.

Karen, I'll be keeping Autumn and Allison in my prayers! Also tell Autumn that if she doesn't rest I'm going to walk all the way to your house and help you sit on her!!!! Hide all the salt shakers and any kinds of food that contain a lot of salt (like potato chips). Tell her not to panic and keep her relaxed as possible. Hugs, katieangelamber

This has worked with many that had headaches that I have shared this with.
She may be running to the bathroom , but if the headache goes away then , Thanks for water and the Potty !!

Karen, know that you are all in my prayers. The Dr. says the headache is causing the high BP, but it has been my experience that high BP causes a headache. Either way, I pray that all will be well soon. Hang in there GM , I'm sure your BP is up too. Take a deep breath, and have a cup of chamomile tea. Hugs, Judy R
