Raindrops race down the window,
Pushing to reach the bottom,
Like I crave for his attention,
Every neutral glance,
Every passive word,
Means something to me.
Appreciation,
Apathy.
Understanding,
A closed mind.
Him,
Me.
“Be your self”, they all say,
They don’t understand,
I speak to him, trying to impress,
But my speech becomes babbled,
Words mutilated,
Phrases devastated.
Love,
Indifference.
Attention,
Neglect.
Him,
Me.
“There’s plenty more fish in the sea”,
They say.
Correct, but there’s many sharks too,
They don’t realise, there’s only one fish for me,
But to catch him, I’ll probably drown.
Irritation,
Patience.
Condemnation,
Devotion.
Him,
Me.
