She enjoyed her position as beta, but somehow missed the freedom of being a loner, longed to have it back. But Whirlwind...she would forever miss Whirlwind if she did. Whirlwind was her only true friend, the only one she had ever had. And yet--the loner's land seemed to be calling her, calling with it's freedom and adventure. She wasn't sure what to do, but settled on staying for a while, at least until Whirlwind had an alpha male to help out. She would never leave before that. Her thoughts wandered to her age. She was three, still fairly young...but most femme's were searching for mates at this age. She had never really wanted a mate before. Oh, she had thought someday in the future she would, but not at that moment. But now she felt she was getting old...Suddenly, she had a longing for pups, a longing to be a mother...to be a YOUNG mother, who could romp about playfully with her childeren. She sighed again, feeling so much like her name...a Distant Echo that eventually fades away, leaving no remembrance of herself on the earth, in nowolf's mind.
