Subject: Leo Strauss and the Neo-Cons

we should have a leo strauss thread here too. Been reading some of Karl Poppers work. Mostly "The Open Society and its Enemies, v I., II." The first one is on Plato and is very relevent to any discussion of Leo Strauss, as Strauss was mostly a Platonist, if a somewhat peculiar one. Here's a good starter for looking up Popper

There is a reference in "TOSIE" vI about the Thirty Tyrants. Apparently 9 of them were either his students for his collegues/relavtives. So when someone expresses disbelief at the notion the Leo Strauss is just a teacher of ancient philosophy, make sure to let them know what other teachers in the same field have wrought.
