Just thought I'd post a few thoughts on the Golden Days Festival which took place at Portobello near Edinburgh last weekend.

I drove my old 100E the 130 miles from Aberdeen which took about twice as long as would normally but the trip was well worthwhile - not too many cars on display at the Beach but those who turned up received plenty of attention, my hubcaps where literally "licked" clean by a toddler!

At the Bedford Hotel garden we were treated to an ace set from Hi Voltage with hundreds (if not thousands) of people milling about on the prom outside. Blues Incorprated and Sax and Axe gave great performances to appease the less greasey in the crowd.

The evening show at the Town Hall was a great night for dancing - a good mix of cheese and grease kept everyone happy - special mention to The Tennessee Hot Shots who, despite a lead problem with Si's bass, raised the roof and kept the dancefloor packed before Maria Vincent and the Millionaires came on.

No draught beer on sale meant I had to endure bottled lager all night, so it was a pretty sober affair for me.

Tojo and Rhumboogie closed the night with a dualling DJs set - great fun and I just want to say thanks to all the organisers and especially to the Turners who put me up for the night.
