Whilst on the subject of different versions of songs appearing on the Best Of CD, does anyone know what this version of Dave is? It's different from both the In the Long Grass album and the UK single versions.
Any ideas???

I too have noticed that Dave is a different version to that of the released single/album version. I believe that I have the answer.

Early in 1984 I was searching second hand record shops when I came across a tape of unfinished mixes of songs from "In the Long Grass". I bought this tape and it includes "Dave". All songs were un-produced and early mixes, prior to being mixed by Bob Clearmountain. This version of "Dave" is included on the best of. Sounds good though!

Incidently I have US mixes of "Drag me Down" and "Lucky" Very different

This version is from the gig where the NME got that photo of Geldof with blood streaming down his face, according to Geldof in an otherwise same-old, same-old, interview in the current issue of Hot Press.
