You and wife did not get an answer to the birthday party invitation you sent me for a few reasons.

You claimed Genieve and I as your two best friends. Genieve betrayed and hurt you some time back and a bust up happened. Genieve was forever flirting whilst you played egoish mind games - something wife sat back and watched, something wife and I talked about on occasion. Something I thought wife was crazy for tolerating and something you never did with me - for you weren't game. Yep, truth is, I always thought it funny and the ever so intelligent Genieve quite stupid.

You'd call on occasion asking how things were doing. I always appreciated that and I mentioned things were a bit trying; here for example, on site at Geldof, and you did nothing about it.

You were heading off to Melbourne and wanted me to meet you there. I could shop or visit friends while you attended conferences. We could have dinner and share (without any problem) a motel room - fine, but I wasn't offered air tickets and when I said that I really couldn't afford it since I'd have to get the car new tyres before making a trip you offered to pay the petrol. Like, I was starting to wonder if you were deaf or something.

Best Friend, Xmas came and you didn't even think to put a cheque in a card for the kids. I had $60 to spend on the little one that year and nothing for the older two. Tony?

Wife calls up when the chips are down and we talk. Wife calls, when she's had a few drinks, with revelations (not unlike some of your own) that were beginning to blow the system. Wife arrives to visit parents in my street and forgets to drop in and say hello. Then I get an invitation to Brisbane for a birthday party - I thought about going; I'd have liked to and appreciated the three month notice, however, even one month later I couldn't see my way clear to getting there and one more month down the track I realised, and happily, that I'd had a gutful of the pair of you.

Old is our mateship and a mercy flight (with a baby on my hip) to your place where 4 day old Zac wouldn't feed. Getting old is my fall from independence - from what? A psychic attack ..... awkward I know but shit happens; there's one for you - me swearing is so unbecoming isn't it?
