First I use rubbing alcohol to break them in faster. Soak the leather sole with a cotton ball and start bending and folding them back. Let them dry and then repeat until you have the right feel. After they are completely dry take a metal/ wire brush and scrape the bottom of the shoe at the ball of the foot. This helps the shoe to have more traction on the floor and make it less slippery. We do this with pointe shoes a lot! I had a pair of Pacelli Super Flexi's that I did the same thing to.
