I would be OK with everyone paying their share as a percentage.

Income IS tiered to be higher on the more wealthy. However the VERY wealthy only get a small amount of their income from an actual payroll tax. Much of it is from 'capital gains which is capped at 15%'. So the problem is that they need to adjust capital gains in the same tiered way in order to be sure that everyone is paying their fair share. Perhaps our taxes need to be geared to collecting taxes on ALL income as a flat number rather than the weird convoluted thing we have now.

But quite frankly.... Im none too happy with making the lives easier for people who wont get off their collective butts and get a stinking job.. or two if thats what they need to do. Or go to school at night while working during the day...whatever it takes to get ahead. But all too often people are so stinking spoiled in this country that they think they should only have to work 32 to 40 hours per week and always get weekends off. I say BS..... Many of those that get to be UBER wealthy worked their asses off to get there. But once they get there they find that they have to support people who wont friggin work.

But..... Im with you to the point of the more wealthy should be taxed appropriately.... not the taxes we have today where they are paying less taxes than the average middle class American
