Subject: Back in Iraq again!

Ok visit home, would have been better if everyone hadn't gotten the flu as soon as I showed up. Probably was not flu actually, but was some kind of stomach problem, to which I was apparently immune.

Got to see my father, who is not in good shape. He didn't get sick, so I'm not a carrier of anything. He is bad enough for hospice now, so he's probably got six months to live, or less. Man's in his 90's, can't say he's being cut off in his prime.

Family Christmas party went well, apart from me being a little sick and stressed over being with so many people. Flying in the winter just kills my sinuses, so I had to abscond and clear my nose every fifteen minutes or so.

Everyone is happy, middle daughter graduated college with a BA, so I guess life is going on.

Damned if I saw or heard of any of these green shoots, but time will tell.
