Subject: A Kick Ass Weekend in Tennessee

Well, I just spent an awesome weekend in Oak Ridge, TN. I went down there with the Crew team to compete in the Souther IRA (Intercollegiate Rowing Association) Championships against 55 other schools through out the nation... most of them were coastal schools with varsity rowing programs (Crew is still a club sport at Purdue, but not for much longer). There were 28 separate races, and Purdue kicked ass in most of them, winning the most points and leaving with the Overall Team Points trophy for the second year in a row... you gotta love it when a school in the midwest where there is no water and where no one even knows what Crew is can go and destroy the coastal schools.

My boat took the Freshman Lightweight 8 trophy this year, and we each got some cool gold medals. We had a tough race in the grand finals against Georgia Tech, Clemson, and Florida. We took 1st place in that race by 0.6 seconds. Anyway, we did that on Saturday afternoon (it's Sunday night now), and I still have the adrenaline rush.

Anyway, I'm going to go find some productive outlet for my excess energy. Phule, you'll probably get an email saying a very similar thing as this post, but you'll just have to deal with it =)

Later all.

- Emrys
