Answer for:
Boss: I would say "Hi!" instead of a more formal "hello", then give my name, what number to call (if not at work), and a very brief message.

Client: I would say "Hello, this is (full name), then give my number and what time(s) I can be reached there, with a brief message. I would speak slowly & clearly and repeat my number at the end of the message with a "thank you, and I look forward to your reply".

Spouse: N/A

Parent: I would say, "Hi, this is Kathy. I will call you back later." (My mother hates her answering machine & mine!)

Child: I would speak very slowly and clearly and tell them I will call back. Leaving a phone number for them to call would depend on their age.

Professor: I would identify myself by name, phone number, what class I am taking, when would be a good time to call back, and a brief message stating what I need. I would repeat my phone number at the end of the message.
