I remember last year when it happened, like everyone else, I was numb for a few days. The 9/11 Tragedy happened on a Tuesday, and I was surfing the net on Friday, looking for different reactions to the tragedy. The thing that impressed me the most was the way people from all over the world were grieving for America. Up until that point, and because of the tragedy, I was feeling like America and Americans were somehow despised by the rest of the world. Seeing the outpouring of these peoples' grief let me know that people really do care about America, and they really do look upon America as a big brother. Whether they want to admit it or not, people around the world know that the United States has been called upon ever since World War I to settle disputes between warring nations. Whether they admit it or not, they know they rely on the United States for humanitarian aid
As we are learning in class, not all communication is verbal. Sometimes we send non-verbal communication by our actions and mannerisms. Maybe we don't always act the way the rest of the world wants us to, or with the swiftness they desire; but I think the United States, because of their democracy, tries to act accordingly.
