For a group of 5 year olds I would try to use visual aids at this age they may not be able to comprehend, also give concrete examples, use simple words without losing the meaning.

For a group of 9 year olds pretty much the same visual aids and give example, maybe not as many. and use more complex wording.

For High schoolers, speak out more at their level and try to keep them interested and entertain. Give examples that are relevant to them.

For class , Use more technical terms. Try to convey the message and again give examples that may be relevant to them.
