Subject: Black and White with the 2200

I am trying (over and over) to print black and whites with the Epson 2200. Although I have had some good success, I keep having to play with the adjustments to eliminate either a green or magenta cast and I wind up wasting a lot of time, ink and paper. Last night, I was trying to print a very nice black and white portrait and can't get it right no matter what I do. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help anyone may have.
