The Hatching Sands
You walk into a mountanous cave in awe, dressed in white robes and hopping from foot to foot from the heat of the sand. This is the Hatching Sands, where the Queen dragon lays her clutch. If you would like to become a Candidate, simply state your name, a discription, and any other information you wish. Write with care, as this will determine which dragon you recieve, and indeed your whole future on Pern. Remember to be respectful to the Queen, and good luck!

She stops a few feet from him, burying her feet in the sand casually, now quite used to the heat. "Hello! I didn't expect to see you here, Jarod. How was your trip? You're here to impress too?"

She finally had the guts to move from her spot in the sands, surpised to find out it wasn't nearly has hot as it was. Elbowing Sir gently she winked.

The lad trots onto the Sands, the Gold flit on his shoulder squawking resentfully. At the sight of the huge Queen Dragon, she squawks, dissapearing from his shoulder. He grins, spotting Vineale on the Cliff wathcing, eyes whirling nervously. Trying to surpress a nervous stature himself, he bows to the Queen, standing as near the main Clutch as he possibly could.

~Kaia peeks in from the entrence to the Sands, looking about. Her bronze Ares croons lightly, eyes whirling excitedly. He whistles and uses a Kaia's shoulder as a spring board, launching himself into the air. Kaia rolls her eyes as she steps out onto the Sands, the hot sand a comfort to her bare and cold feet. The little bronze spirals down to her outstretched arm, chirping.~ "Shush you little beast!" ~Kaia says, scratching his eye ridges.~ "Pardon Ares, he gets excited easily." ~She says to the WeyrWomem.~ "My name is Kaia and this little brute is Ares."

Mykelleh walks calmly over to Lithien, her feet finally have adjusted to the extreme heat so only the slightest twitch is visible as her feet touch the sands. "Finally! Someone else has come to the sands!" she says in pleasant greeting. "I'm Mykelleh. And you are?"

body still, just outside the hot sands...timidly she progressed further....suddenly starting to hop forward on her tippy toes. Whispering "ow", her arms open to keep herself balanced and her body slightly leaning forward. Making quite a scene of herself. When she reached the eggs she stopped her hopping process, although still switching feet to keep them from burning badly. Slowly digging her feet under the sand to get to a cooler location, her expressions cooling to a more pleasent view. Standing tall to look as if nothing was bothering her...�

Mykelleh follows Siralla onto the sands, only barely concious of the gentle warth beneath her feet. The weyr is wonderful, more than she ever expected, but that is not what she is thinking of now, as she gazes, wide-eyed and awefilled towards the queen and the eggs. Mykelleh slowly approaches the eggs with a reverent tentative step, afraid the slightest stumble or quick movement would shatter the magic of the moment. They're so enchanting! Orbs of a gentle golden cream color glow in the soft light, pulsating with a life that seems to pull her towards them until she is all but lost in a trance. (ooc: dramaticness!!! So fun!) Pausing, snapping back to herself, she whispers softly, "When will they hatch?"

Sir' trudged closer and closer to the hatching sands, with her first candidate for Tanith's hatchlings.

Tanith was settled nicely in the warm sand, gazing down at the eggs, the proud Mom.
