And I don't agree. If someone spends $5,000 on a bike and don't get a quality helmet from a reputable company, then that person is unquestionally a moron. And a cheap one to boot. Some of the half helmets & eggshells that some wore to follow the law were as good as nothing. And if you can't tell a quality helmet from a piece of crap then you have no business riding a bike.

But I believe and know that there have been many a person that has survived an accident due to the fact that they had on a helmet and walked away with maybe a broken bone and some road rash. The idea of taking an isolated incident and trying to compare it to the ratio of all who have been helped from proper headgear is a bit out of tune for me. I can see your logic in a twisted sort of way but it just doesn't sit well with me.

We will always have the "dumb" ones around that we will have to bear the brunt of their stupidity in financial terms. But I can't see blaming the entire industry and bike riding population for it. Or for the lives and misery it has saved. The numbers don't add up.
