 Leden's eyes struggled to open. He could barely see anything except a bright white light... 'I'm dead' he thought to himself. His vision flickered and figures came into focus. Faded...Reappeared. Voices....faint and distant swirled around him like an eddy...
"Scalpul..."
"Bio-enhancers..."
"He's fading...!"
"Bionic occular laser sight..."
"Adamantine replacements..."
"...enhanced...cyborg....super-human..."
Leden's eyes laboriously shut themselves...
What seemed like hours later his eyes fluttered open again. The white light diminished and things began to focus. Slowy, as if swimming back into conciousness, Leden began to recognize images. A small steel colored room. He was on a cot or small matress of some sort. "Wha..." Was all his stiff throat could choke out. Memories flooded back to him. The battle on Stragon V. His ATAF being mangled and then...what...black? His head hurt...His right side hurt...his eyes hurt most of all..."Wha..." Again all he could manage to say. He struggled to remember more but then passed out.
