Last weekend's BENEFIT CONCERT for IRISH PRISONERS in Providence, Rhode
Island was an outstanding success; with enthusiastic support to the
Irish Freedom Committee from attendees and band members alike.
Concertgoers signed scores of Christmas cards for prisoners, and nearly
100 signatures were lodged to a petition for Repatriation of Irish
prisoners in British jails. Members of four bands who performed
collectively signed a poster to be sent to republican prisoners in a
gesture of support. A brief report of the event follows below from the
Providence Rhode Island Chapter of the Irish Freedom Committee.

The Providence Rhode Island Chapter of the Irish Freedom Committee would
like to thank all those who attended the 23 November Christmas drive in
Providence.
Over one hundred strong were in attendance to witness an energetic
lineup consisting of Jay Allen, The Paraplegics, USM, and Mike
McColgan's Street Dogs.
Our gratitude goes to the enthusiasm of every individual who made this
event a success.
In particular, we would like to offer deep thanks to WALE radio (AM 990
Providence) and FUZZBOX (Fridays 7-9pm), without whose help the interest
raised and the support received may not have been so far-reaching across
the New England political community.
