On a dark and stormy nig- Err...wrong story.

Respen Silverstar, Demonbane. A stalewart fighter, never afraid to jump into the melee and share blows with the opponent. A rather normal sized (Wood) elf, Respen is only 5'3(*Cough*damnedtallelves*cough*), while rather short, it does not make him weak, as some would assume of an elf. With strength enough to down a muscle-bound brute in a single blow, yet graceful enough to dance among branches, the young woof elf seems to be an enigma to all. While most put him off to be uncouth, he is, indeed singleminded in his "crusade" to kill every last demon in existence.

History and the like: It was said among his people that one day, an avenger would be born, one so strong that he or she could kill with the graceful ease natural to their race. A single star shines in the darkness was foretold, burning so brightly that it could outshine all evil! But this light would burn out, being consumed by the dark.

The "Silverstar." A family heirloom, and the item that gives his family their title. Born under curious conditions that no one know of, not even Respen himself, the elf was raised among humans, he was certainly a spectacular specimen among them, outdoing all of his classmates in physical activities with such ease that it would seem he would be unsurprised as he aged. His parents, Lia and Aust Galanodel, were both half elves, and were so familiar with elven customs. They tried to raise him as best they could in the city, but the elf was just too wild to control as he developed. To hold control over him, his parents put him in a military academy at the age of 13, hoping that the growing and learning to be a soldier would calm the wild spirit.

Alas, their efforts in vain, the child would only rebel against code, and, due to a rather humilitating prank on his teacher. The prank earned him an expulsion from the academy, but not before it tought the art of warfare on the elf. Dismayed at the rebellion their adopted child has been expressing, the parents send him to another academy. If physical training would not tame him, maybe the art of wizardry could occupy the sharp mind. The boy proved quite good at this too, bypassing many of the senior students with surprising alacrity. His search for even greater knowledge proved to be his downfall, his master having caught him trying to steal a spell from a forbidden spellbook. Once again kicked out of what promised to be a promising career, Respen was beginning to wander his own purpose in life.

Fire. It is said it has began life, and so it shall end life. Fire is indeed a powerful element, strong enough to end life as it is destined to indeed do. It was that night fire streaked along the sky that night, illuminating every house in the city's walls. It was fire that spawned the demons to raze the city. It was fire that almost cost Respen and his adopted parents their lives. Under the flickering shadows, spurred by the flames, the small family escaped the city, but not before Aust had to subue and rather forcefully pull the child from the doorway with a his father's bastard swords inhand. Seemed the elf wanted to continue his father's warrior like legacy. The comatose elf had to be dragged from the city, after his father had stopped him from charging a demon. The last sound he heard from his mother weeping.

He was awakened what seemed to be days later. It was early morning, that was sure. Stirring from grogginess, he found his father's bastard swords at hand, as if he had fell wielding them. When he tried to recall the events..all he could see is fire and a dark figure looming in it, cackling in wild glee. Upon looking around the surroundings, he found he was in a nearby forest. Black, scorched ground was replaced, stumps for trees. Oily blackness was all over. He found the skeletal remains of a humanoid, unable to tell anything to tell anything about it, all he saw other than the burnt remains of the woodlands and the skeleton was a note over the ribcage of the bones, held down by a star like pendant. Moving the pendant aside, the confused elf opened the note. It read:
"Respen Silverstar, bastard child of Liana Silverstar, the skeleton you see before you is of the whore Lia Galanodel, half elf child of the high elves. Your father, myself, has ripped the final breath from her frail and pitiful body. The star infront of you is a family heirloom of your old parents, maybe it will give you spirit for the coming events. Come, "Dear son", come kill your father, if you dare." The bottem of the paper was magically scorched, resembling the word "Ralock" Aust was dumb-founded. someone named Ralock had just claimed to be his father and had said he had murdured his mother..this could not be true though, how could the earth be so scorched?! It must of been a use. With a low sigh of frustration mixed with confusion, he searched around, disregarding the corpse that was obviously not his mother's as the note claimed. Finding what seemed to be very large foot prints, he sheathed the bastard swords and soon picked up trail of whatever caused them. To the best of his memory, he had finally caught up with the beast. He found it sitting on a burning log, arms folded with a smirk his lips to reveal gleaming white teeth. The words "Welcome, Respen." appeared in the head of the adolescent. A vicious fight ensued, that is of no doubt. It left a large scar across the chest of Respen. The demon had, in reality, fled from a berserking elf in fear of his own life. Ever since that day, the young elf had, since that day, vowed to end the life of his so called father.

He has taken up his family crest, the shining silver star. He returned to the site where he had awakened and gave the remains of his mother a proper funeral pyre. He had lived his days, traveling the world of D'shai hunting demons, searching for his father, and doing his best to learn to fight with his own fathers weapons to steal the final breath from the demonic body. Later in his life, when his vows had grown deeper, his hatred so consuming that he had sworn to do ANYTHING to kill every last demon in existence. He had his chance just then, joining the fight in what would be dubbed "The Lost War."

*The cloaked figure slips a few coins down the counter of the bar, muttering a quiet thanks to the bartender. Has he turns in his seat, the large crowd around him part towards the door. The bulk of the man shifts, beginning towards the door. Just as he opens the door, he discards his dull brown cloak to reveal an amazing wood elf figure, twin scimitars sheathed at his hips, dressed in studded armor. He strolls off, nonchalant as to the story....*
