I've recently hit 34, and thus got Lightning Mastery.
The quest where you defeat the 3 Ancients?? Awesome.
Nova: Around 100+-200+, same radious, extreme mana cost for dmg potential.
Chain lightning: 2-400 dmg, 7 hits still, can rebound, Chance dictates dmg, sometimes low, sometimes super high. However rebound increases the chances of the latter.
I have around 400+ Mana at the moment, using legit items and from all the points into energy. I recently got a trainer to try out the Theory of Nova Vs Chain. Got them both 20 with 20 ranks in Lightin Mastery, and found that Though Nova does decent Dmg, it ususally takes 2 spells to kill any one monster. While Chain ususally takes 1-2, depending. Chain can be fired from a distance, while Nova ya gotta get in the nitty gritty, where us mages with low life cant handle. If you still say nova, then coo, i just have a diffirent preference and all is well, just wanted to say my two bits, cause Chain is very good
