Subject: Edmonton on the move Author: Edmond Monton [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 17:42:04 01/23/05 Sun The Eagles have announced earlier today that they have traded Marty Turco, Pasi Nurminen and Mike Johnsson for Ed Belfour and Andrew Raycroft. Edmonton had to do something about the goaltending situation which was one of the reason the team didn't make the playoff. Turco was very hard to let go but we know what Belfour can bring to table right away. Turco had a hard time this year at the no 1 goalie spot. We know he can do better and be way better, however it won't be in Edmonton. Raycroft is 5 years younger and has some upside. Belfour will bring stability in net for the next two season. Pat Quinn thinks he has a great team in his hands this year. That would be the first year that we have that much offense in front. Our d should be better with late acquisition of Hill and Vaananen last year. Defensive play is the key ingredient to succeed this year. We will focus on that....
