(HALIFAX)-Only hours after announcing they had traded into the draft at the 12th position, Harpoons GM Stephen J. Holodinsky emerged once more from the warroom with yet another deal in hand, this one with the Ottawa Oaks. Going to the Oaks was the aforementioned 12th overall picks in addition to Halifax's 2nd and 3rd round picks in the 2008 draft. In return for that package Halifax moves up three spots to the 9th overall position.

"We realize that we are giving up a bit of the future with the two extra picks, but we feel moving up in this draft is essential," explained Holodinsky. "As well, we have stockpiled picks in 2007 and 2009 so we will be getting young talent in our system through those two drafts."
