(Halifax)-Halifax strengthened it's goaltender depth as well as adding a bit more at the center position with the opening of the second phase of the free agent market yesterday. Goaltenders Chistobal Huet, J-S Aubin and pivot Derek Armstrong are now Halifax Harpoons thanks to deals they agreed to with the club.

"You can never have enough goaltending," explained GM Stephen J. Holodinsky. In this year especially, when we are passing the torch so to speak to Roberto (Luongo) we wanted to make sure al of our bases were covered."

"As for Derek," he continued, "we like the combination of grit and defense as well as offensive skills he gives us at the fourth line centers spot."

With the signing of Armstrong, it looks like Randy Robitaille, previously seen as the final pivot on the big club is going to have to fight for minutes at the minor league level and may actually get waived in the waiver draft.

"It was a nice ride," Robitaille commented, "but I'll go where I have to go to play. I believe I'm good enough to play in the GWHL, if not here, than somewhere else."
