Subject: Marauders Get Taste of Top Four

Charlottetown, NS - A big win against a sagging foe has never felt so good. With rival London idle on Saturday night, the Montreal Marauders took a close 5-4 win over Charlottetown to leapfrog the Lasers and get their first taste of what the top four playoff teams feels like.

Unfortunately for the hard-working Marauders, it probably won't last long. The talented Lasers have two games in hand over Montreal and will probably grab the last playoff spot once again in the next few days as Montreal rests.

"We've forged a battle anyway," said club GM Sean Gallagher, "now we'll have to see which team can put together the best stretch run. They are really good and we only play them like once more, I think, so it will be interesting."

The Marauders have completely revamped their look, trading four of their opening night top six forwards, four of their six defensemen and their number one goalie.

The Marauders are committed to getting into the playoffs. The only question that remains is whether they can inch past London and keep the last spot or not.

With the trade deadline looming, rumors in Montreal are running rampant. If local radio stations are to be believed, which they probably are not, then Montreal management may have as many as five offers out to various teams.

Montreal hosts a tough Calgary squad tomorrow in the first home game for newly acquired Peter Forsberg, Rod Brind'Amour and Sean Hill. Tickets are no longer available.
