London Lasers Clinch the final playoff spot in the East after barely making it last year. The Lasers were knocked out by one point and were major advocates of the one point for overtime losses, which would have put them in the playoffs. This year the Lasers made it on their own accord thanks to the recent hot play of newly aquired Ed Belfour and the leadership play of Mike Modano.

The Laser will meet Quebec in the first round who have a whopping 125 points in the standings and boster a juggernaught offence. With the likes of Demitra,Jagr,Lemieux and Naslund this team is not short on scorers. Their defence is equally as strong headed up by Rob Blake. Thier Goalie Tandem of Sean Burke and Patrick Lalime have done an awsome job stopping whatever shots they have faced.

London Will be looking to Modano,Weight,Daze and Bondra for their goals which is nothing to scoff at. When these guys are on fire they are a very dangerous force. On defence the Lasers look to Lidstrom and Hamrlik to dominate Quebecs forwards and Sandis Ozolinsh to run the PP. In goal the Laser hope Belfour's playoff experience will shine and if he has a bad game Fernandez has proven he can play and win.

Although there is 40 points seperating the two teams in the standings the Lasers don't feel they are underdogs by any means. The Playoffs are a whole new playing field and the Lasers look to return to cup glory for a second time.
