(Halifax)-Talk about your bad timing. Only days after dealing Milan Hejduk and Michael Ryder to Montreal and Toronto respectively to get rid of a glut of right wingers on the roster, starboard sider Ziggy Palffy unexpectedly retires. For a while there it looked likec perennial sub Darren McCarty was going to inherit his job on the third line, but with today comes the deal that saw one time Harpoons Peter Bondra return to his old team.

Going to London in the deal is minor league forward Josef Vasicek and Charlottetown's 3rd round pick in 2010 which Halifax had picked up in a previous deal.

"Our game plan is and always has been to put pressure on the opposing defense from start to finish," explained GM Stephen J. Holodinsky. "While Darren is good at the forecheck, we thought wee needed someone with a little bit more finish to fill that role on the third line. That's why wee brought Peter back."

For his part Bondra was happy to be back on the east coast.

"Hey, these guys are the two time defending champions," he exclaimed. "Anything I can do to help them get there again, I will. I don't care what line they put me on."
