No brick and mortar talk here, because the world is moving on and the era of the Net is welcomed by
all; new internet jargon is introduced and used up
by people all around the globe from all walks of life.

The problem with the internet is that it has a speedy
development, therefore one has to shift gears and
move ahead to be equal if not better than the rest.

Stepping into the era of e-knowledge might sound pretty frightening for a first timer, what with the lack of knowledge and background in information technology. However, it should not deter him or her from taking his or her initial step forward to grasp the development of e-knowledge for the improvement and betterment of the community as a whole.

Muslims should consider e-knowledge as of significance and should not disregard the benefits it has to offer. These prized benefits will allow them to gain better access to the
world and, inshaaAllah, it will give them knowledge and information crucial for their future.

The concept of e-knowledge is simple, it provides the base for a knowledge-based economy whereby networks play vital roles in 'bonding' one person with another.

Allah SWT has set the guidelines for Muslims to consume any knowledge relevant and useful for everyday application. Muslims are taught in accordance to the teachings of the Noble Qur'an and Sunnah that they are not to misuse the knowledge they have for inappropriate uses.

Every member of the community must share his or her knowledge and this is of significance when one enters the era of e-knowledge because there would be many computer illiterates even in the turn of the new century. Muslims everywhere should welcome the new millennium with open arms, and to adopt the new age of e-knowledge as to avoid from being left out from the rest of the world.

When one has e-knowledge, one is able to perform transactions over the Net and this would be a useful and efficient application for the users. There is undoubtedly valuable commercial business on the internet and the consummated knowledge of the electronic world would thus be useful and serve as a good experience for Muslims. As a Hadeeth say:

"A Muslim is never satiated in his quest for good (knowledge) till it ends in Paradise." [Tirmizi]
