Subject: Dedication for 9-11-01

It�s been a year since that tragic day
When so many lives were taken away
As we watched in a daze at the gassy cloud
And our nation pulled together and stood proud

The tears that have been shed in the last year
Could fill an ocean, as we still live in fear
For even the angels that were taken from our lives
Look down on our nation, and tears fill their eyes

They had no warning that horrible day
We can only imagine the last words they conveyed
I know they were not alone in that final hour
For God took them with him to his heavenly tower

We stand united, one nation under God
As our soldiers still fight for our freedom
A battle that has left a bitter heart
As we stand together, each doing our part

We will remember them and the price they paid
With memorials and beautiful flower displays
But most of all when you kneel to pray
For their memory lives in us, since that tragic day

I would like to ask one thing today
That we take a moment of silence and pray
For we are a nation of compassionate hearts
And when joined together, you can�t pry us apart

I have my banner proudly displayed
And the tears are rolling down my face
I know this battle will be won
For we are fighting for mother freedom

We can never get back what you have taken from us
For this Ungodly act, there is no justice
I am so proud of our stars and stripes
And the firefighters who gave so much of their time

You may have injured our pride
But Old Glory is flying high
For in the end, we will all meet
And I am thankful my heart is clean

Your angel wings I feel in the breeze
And know that your souls are still with me
For he may have taken away the flesh
But nothing can kill the Holy Spirit.
