Subject: Baring My Soul

My walls once sheltered you from the cold
I kept the frost off your nose and toes
You can still smell the wood burning in my soul
From those warm winter nights and the hot fiery coals

You would watch out my window and see white-tailed deer
Or baby raccoons that had no fear
The wolfs that would howl in the night
As we would sit cozy warm in the firelight

The smell of yeast in mommas home cooked bread
Or hot apple pie just waiting for me to grab
And momma would shake her finger and say no
Not until the pie has cooled

Your memories once hung from these walls
Pictures of family and lines as we grew tall
The old wooden floors as we danced and played
So many wonderful memories of those good ole days

The old tree where we once had a swing
Now has lost its beautiful leaves
For no longer does it shelter me
As it has reached its life�s capacity

Many critters have visited me since you've gone
Let me abandoned and so alone
But the door remains open if you wish to stop by
For we have shared alot in our lives!
