My mother died and she left a huge amount of inheritence money to my son and I. Well, when my mother was alive, her and my wife Christy's relationship was rather terrible, so she didn't get any inheritence. But last week, my wife spent the money on a bigger and better house. At first, I didn't really think anything of it because I was so happy to be moving out of such a tiny little house, but today I realized that this was my son and I's inheritence money and she spent it on this house without asking.

I talked to her about this whole thing and she just said to me: "Amos, everybody does it. When an old fart dies and leaves a huge windfall, you spend it on a bigger and better house. Look, you really shouldn't make a big deal out of this - talk to the people on the Simmerville boards. I guarantee they do the same thing."

I have never heard of anybody else doing this, so I took her suggestion about posting just to be sure. Is this just a common thing I shouldn't hype over? Or was I right about this being a terrible thing?
