*. caro led the pair of finely bred mares into the dressage areana. unhooking eclipse's lead line, she let her stay in the dressage ring for a few moments. turning she led spite into the jumping ring and shut the gate. unhooking the nymph's lead, she turned and jogged off toward a veryt small chest in one corner of the ring. pulling out a key she wore around her neck, she unlocked the chest. picking up jumping tack, she turned and tacked up spite. good girl. hold still for just another second. once spite was ready to go, she mounted up and sqeezed her into a trot.

*. spite eagerly lept into a trot, silken tail lashing across taut hind 'quarters. sculpted head was tossed energetically, trying to get head, though at the gentle reminder to behave, spite calmed.

*. that's a good girl. once the pair had lapped the ring three times, caro asked spite for a canter. as she urged the mare toward the first jump, she readied herself in the saddle.

*. ravne huen damsel lept easily into a canter. toward the jump they loped, when caro gave her the signal. taut 'quarters bunched beneath her, fore legs tucked beneath the robust chest, and she lept the jump gracefully. around the ring they went - completing the course perfectly the first time!

*. caro pulled spite to a trot, then a walk, and finally halted her. dismounting quickly, she untacked her and stowed the jumping tack in her 'special' chest. returning the the dark nymph, she rehooked the halter and lead. let's go work eclipse. glancing down at her watched she gasped - it was getting late. clucking to the mare she picked up the pace to a jog, picking up eclipse's rope, the trio went off to the race track.
