First her eyes open a little. She sees the dim image of mountains and snow laden pine trees. The flakes are falling faster in large clumps. It is so quiet Misty can hear the wind stirring the thick fur around the ruff of her neck. A howl in the distance. Misty vaguely recollects her trek across the tundra. Where is she? Groaning from the stiffness in her muscles, the wolf slowly regains her feet. The wolf! Misty had almost forgotten her. She quickly scanned the nearby pines for the stranger. Nothing. Misty sat down to wait, for this seemed like the wisest thing to. do for now.
