He set down the heavy platter of vegetables and saw the two nudging the flit eggs in a pot of sand near the hearth.
"What on PERN have you two done?!"

Baran's bellow brought Yuri's head up from the lid of the deep thought while Fram gave a small squeal.
Storming over, the man yanked both of them from the pot of sand and shook them before his eyes caught sight of the three eggs within.
"And who do you both THINK will want these? I suppose you stole them from a queen flit's nest?! Have you no shame?"

Baran set them both down and they cowered, sending a vision of the fact there were more and that humans should go to the Cove to get theirs.
"Yah, and the gold queen of these trusted the BOTH of YOU with these three?"

Yuri tried to trill but knew Baran was very displeased. If a flit could wish itself to melt into the flooring, he would have have done so gladly.
He shook the pain out of his neck and clung his wings very tightly to his small body.

"Damn! Now I have to convince some fool or two to adopt the little ones we'll soon be graced with. Let this be a lesson to you both! You NEVER bring home flit eggs! You allow us humans to do so! If flits are unwanted in a Weyr they will be nothing but trouble. It would be better to let them wild."

Fram screeched at the words and Yuri timidly seconded it.
Both sending visions for the three to not be taken to a place where hatching would render them wild. both stating that they should remain here at the Weyr.

Baran mounded up warm sand about the three and waved his hand at the two troublemakers.
"Away with you both! I have work to do and no time to fritter with either of you!"
