Subject: Association Dues Increase

Thank you, Maggie, Annabeth, Nevada and JD for questioning the increase in our Association dues. I have the very same concern, as I know that there was a surplus and the reserve payments were almost paid back. Also, two of the previous employees who were paid a good salary (Sharla and Seth) are no longer with the Farm. The three other employees that left recently were probably paid more than the three current employees (I don't know this for a fact, but I know what was being offered for some of these positions). There should certainly be more money available because of the lower expense of the employees salaries. Yes, we should have a savings from the Farm Fair also, since there unfortunatly won't be one. I know things are going up, but that was accounted for last year when our dues were raised. I do not understand this new increase. We need a better explanation from the Board. I would like for all of you who are interested in the answer to come to the meeting next Thursday night. We have a couple of new Board members who I expect to make a very positive impact on this Board. Please come to the meeting and maybe we can get some answers. I would like to get a copy of last year's budget for comparison purposes...does anyone have one, I can't seem to get one.
