I am just sick over all of the negative talk that is going on behind people's backs here at The Farm. I very strongly believe that a large part of this is because of unpleasant personal histories between individuals, and the desire of certain people to turn others against their enemies. This is hurting the ENTIRE Farm membership, and it is time that it stops. Please keep your personal disagreements personal. I would very much like to recommend that some of the people who are doing the damage either approach the individuals with whom they have problems, or keep quiet. This situation is getting worse than what I see between children at my school. Let's please act like grown-ups.

As for our current Board, although I do not agree with every member, I do feel that we have a pretty reasonable Board. Each of us has a variety of experiences, and we use those to help make decisions the best we know how. I, for one, do not feel that there is any "hidden agenda" in the heart of any member. (You may disagree with me, and you are entitled to do so. If you would like to discuss things with me, please feel free to do so. I will not carry the discussion any further, but I would like a chance to try to clear the air, if possible.) No, I do not feel that each member ALWAYS thinks things through carefully before voting (myself included), but I do think each of us votes as s/he feels is best. Most of the time our votes are unanimous, but not always. Yes, we as a Board have made mistakes, but please remember, we are human. No, the "other 5 members of the Board" are not giving in to what 2 members want. We, each of us, have minds of our own, and we use them. We even vehemently disagree from time-to-time.

We are trying very hard to be an efficient and professional Board, as we feel there is a large number of "loose ends" that need to be tied up around this place. Some of the ways that we are going about this have made people uncom-fortable. Change does that. However, as stated at the meeting last night, it has NEVER been the intention of the Board to fire ANYONE around here. There have been a number of discoveries that have been made and a number of problems that have arisen around here with some of our employees, and the Board has met with the individuals involved each time we became aware of problems in an effort to resolve issues and to keep the problems from recurring. These become documentation, when necessary, in personnel files. We are trying to be an appropriate employer, in order to keep The Farm out of some of the kinds of difficulties we have had in the past. Again, this has made some people uncomfortable, but it has not been done in a malicious manner with evil intent. Yes, certain individuals on the Board have made inappropriate comments at times, and others have spoken up, at the appropriate time, to let those individuals know that what was said should not have been said. Again, we are all human, and we do make mistakes. However, the other Board members do not just sit back and let things go when they need to be addressed.

There is a lot that goes on "behind the scenes" and some of it is pretty ugly. It would be so easy to share all of the information that has to be brought up in Executive sessions publicly, but we can not do that. However, somehow information is leaking out, and it does not seem to be leaking out accurately. I wish this, too, would stop. It is not healthy for The Farm.

I know that I am not well-known around The Farm. I am often so busy that I can not get to know many of you. I wish I could change that; however, I believe that those who DO know me would say that I am a reasonably intelligent, forthright person. I would like to be able to perform the duties for which I volunteered here without having to deal with the mudslinging that is going on. If there is a large desire of the membership to perform a recall of the Board, please move forward with it quickly so that WHOEVER the Board is may do its job - looking out for the best interests of The Farm at large (not a select few.)

I would like to thank those who have voiced support for our current Board of late, and to thank my fellow Board members. We can remain a cohesive Board, even though we are all humans. I would also like to thank, in advance, those who take to heart my suggestion to try to deal with individuals, rather than continue to tear up our home.
