We held the meeting and set up the rules. It's official we are having THE REBEL KING TOURNAMENT 2003. It is a 3 day King tournament to be held May 30, May 31 and June 1. Entry fee is $25. Yaupon Pier, Ocean Crest Pier and Long Beach Pier are all participating. There is no early registration or payment of fees. Entry fees due prior to wetting a line on Fri 5/30. If you can't get here til Sat, you can still pay and enter. Fishing will be Fri 6am-9pm, Sat 6am-9pm and Sun 6am-4pm. Award ceremony will be held at the pier that caught the 1st place fish. This is a KING tournament so KING MACKEREL is the primary fish, secondary fish are Tarpon,Cobia,Amberjack,Jack Crevalle,Blue, and Spanish. If 3 Kings are caught they will win regardless of secondary fish weighing more. A 10 lb KING beats a 50 lb Cobia. All entry fees will be used in the prize payoff. 1st place= 50 % of total money
2nd place = 30%
3rd place = 20%
So 40 anglers X $25 entry fee = $1,000 and 1st=$500,2nd=$300,3rd=$200.
The more that fish the higher the payout!!! Since this is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend we hope to exceed $1000. The entry fee covers the tournament only, you are responsible for your pier pass each day. You may only fish 1 King set-up, if you have 2 season passes you will only be allowed one for the tournament and we will be tagging tournament rods. I will post complete rules soon. Spread the word and increase the money!!!!
