Evening Chris, The conditions have been pretty tough as of late along the Long Beach areas of Oak Island. Lots of rain waters spilling out of the Cape Fear have kept the waters murky and diluted . Pretty good conditions if we were fresh water fishing for channel cats. Several Pier anglers have
been using fresh (white shrimp) and Blood worms successfully
catching Sheepshead 3-6 pounds and as well Black Drum (1-2 lbs) and small whitting 8-10 inches. Thats better than nothing as in the past weeks. Have heard mention of 2-3 pound flounder showing up along the beach. Minnows are hard to find but some are in the 40th Ave park Creek. Look for things to improve steadily as the water temps rise. Today the water temp rose to 64. If major rains hold off the next week or so fishing will pick up. Good Luck and hope to see you on the Pier soon. Dave Cooper OCP manager
