Thought Dad and I would try a day of king fishing off that new concrete pier. (since its only 20 miles away.) Did ok on kings we caught two 20,13. And also they caught a 25,15. That same day. Water was extra clear and they lost about 6 or 7 kings two were huge that spooled a 4/0 and a 6/0. but the hooks pulled on one, One wrapped a pilon. and One wrapped the leader rest were picks. Not bad pier to fish off of. For 8 bucks we couldn't beat it. All we did was throw off with our fighting rods and tie off to the rail for our anchor line and slide our bait out on the line and used 4/0's. We got all the free bait we wanted all day long blues mostly. Congrats to wally only one more!! hehehe Make it a whopper wally. We'll be down next year at OCP. Take Care everyone.

PS: All you need for gaff and bait bucket rope is 35 feet of rope. Thats 70 foot rope total for both also take a bungee cord to wrap around rail then tie anchor line off to that and retie it when your done fishing the end of the day i usually use a blood-knot to tie two lines together. Next get a soft towel to put under your fighting rod so the line won't hit the rail when the fish runs. (lots of kings lost due to line hitting rails!) Makes that senge look on the line.
