Evening all, This is your humble Pier manager. I would like
to thank Sherri for her postings here as well her willingness to help spread the news. I hope each one of you
feel as I do that "2003" will be the first of many new "Great Fishing" seasons on Ocean Crest. Please let me say for clarifing reasons first that I have'nt taken anyones job. As some of you know my visits to "Your Pier" this past year or so were just that, a change of pace in an environment amoung persons whom like to fish. The hobby has allowed me the chance to meet new anglers all along the NC & SC coast, my personal desire while doing so was enjoying my fishing in an relaxed atmosphere. I found that no matter where I've fished, by being friendly to anglers amoung those local to areas, I had no ties was only a plus. I've never been treated as a unwanted stranger or "an outsider looking to take something from someone". My visits to Ocean Crest have been no different. From the Manager (Vanessa) to
all the other pier employees and anglers the treatment was
always with a "Welcome". Simply meaning I fulfilled my goal
of having a good time.
The decision to inquire to the Managers opening as well was
based off the same simple bases. Excepting the position
was as simple. Fulfilling a personal desire to do something
In an environment I like as well Supplying the needs for my family, a requirement. What better place than with-in the community of Anglers would anyone want to look?
I would also like to touch bases on Vanessa Martin(2002) OCP
manager.I realize Vanessa has many friends loyal to her. Many of those friendships were built around her employement as manager at Ocean Crest these past years. She deserves the
respect from those valved friends she earned . It is simple
fact that she and I have links to a common thread." We both
love fishing and the Greater community of salt water anglers". For that she has my admiration.
The only thing I would ask from you is considering the simple truth of the matter. Vanessa's leaving has nothing too do with my being currently employeed as a Pier manager.
I personally wish her the "very best" in her future endeavers.
I would as well like to extend a open hand to those of you
who don't know me. I'll do my very best at 'earning your business" and look forward to building positive relations
and friendships through those efforts.
The Ocean Crest web site will be modified soon. I'll try
and have updates posted a.s.a.p.
Thank You in advance for your support....
Dave Cooper
