Subject: Grandpuppy came for a visit!

We finally got the meet the adorable Taz! What a handful and boy, does Jim have his work cut out for him.

Zoe was not too impressed with this critter, the cat hid for the weekend after giving me a VERY DIRTY LOOK.

The surprise of the day was Sasha! The puppy snapped at her face and she put her paw out and face-planted him. He started to snap at her body and she put her ears straight up in the air (to keep them away from the naughty brat) and body-checked him against the couch. She was incredibly marvelous (can't say enough about our girl) and she settled him right down.

Taz was abit groggy from his trip and his digestive system wasn't too happy about it, neither was Michael, who had to clean up the mess! Ergo - bath #1. The dogs went outside to play and we were going to visit Beth and Charles that evening. Ergo - bath #2. Taz loves getting dirty and he loves having a bath!

It is really funny to look at Sasha and Zoe. Zoe is typical shepherd colours (black back and the rest of her is a deep glorious golden/reddish brown)and then we have Sasha, who is black and grey with chocolate brown eyes. It is like looking at colour and then black and white. It really gives your eyes a jar and you really notice Sasha's eyes. She looks like a black and white photo with the eyes coloured in.

I have almost caught up on things and I can get going on posting pics and stories. Sasha has her own website and email address and I am struggling to get it up and running. The story of her and the other dogs need to stay out there and NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!

A note about Duchess: When I first saw her (after she first arrived at BigDogRescue) and saw the state she was in, if I didn't have Zoe (not that I would give up my girl for anything) Duchess would be with me and Sasha. She was this cowering, trembling, traumatized basket case. At the Vicki Gabereau show, Duchess was calm, collected, still a bit shy, but quite determined to get cuddled and scratched. We were over at BDR with Taz and of course, the reunion of Sasha and Duchess took place. Afterwards, Duchess tried to climb into my lap to get her fair share of affection. It is unbelievable! No one would think they were the same two dogs. The journey Duchess has taken from what happened to her up on the hill to where she is now, to me, has to be the most.... Words keep failing me as I try to explain how far she has come and Sasha and I keep getting choked up when I talk about their journeys.

Sasha followed me to the door this morning as I was trying to leave for work (a first) and she kept blocking me and trying to get me to go to the closet where the leashes are hung. She knew where the leashes were kept and what they meant and she was letting me know she wanted to go for a walk. THAT IS MY HUG FOR THE DAY!!!

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone. We and 60+ dogs have a lot to be gratefull for this year!!!
