We just had a quiet evening. I even did some stitching ... Watching a movie on the telly with Davey and did a few bord games. At 12:00, we opened a bottle of bubble applejus, drinking it out of champagne glasses. Then go outside to watch the fireworks which people would let off and wishing people in the street a Happy New Year. A tradition in Holland is to eat applebeignets and "oliebollen". It's a kind of bun with currants, raisins and apple, fried in oil. Olie = oil and bollen = balls. New Years day is like Christmasday but without the gifts but with a nice dinner. We would have brunch while the New Years Concert is on from Vienna.
