 I was told by my mother that her mother was a Cherokee (1/4). I know she was in Haywood county census in 1850 as 17 years old and the daughter of James R. Perminter and Nancy ? as her mother. My grandmothers name was Almira Perminter. I have not been able to trace her mother back and I believe she was the one with the Indian blood. Can anyone help with this search of Nancy ?.
