My Great Grandmother was born (abt 1885) in Mississippi according to the 1910 census records. Lydia Turner ( Posey ) died in 1912 (abt) most probably from complications of childbirth of her last child. She had 2 children. She was only 27 at the time of death, and so I know nothing of her parents.
My grandmother had been told most of her life that her mother was Native American. However, I don't know how to prove it or even find information about her. She was married in 1904, so in 1900 she would have still been at home, and I can't find any information about her except for that 1910 census, where she had married and had 1 child.
